FAQs

For your convenience, our most common client questions are answered right here.

Q: Why should I hire a coach?

A: Coaches help people identify and live their highest potential in life. Hiring a coach is an investment in yourself, in your life.

Q: What’s the difference between a coaching and counseling or therapy?

A: Coaching is a modality all of it’s own. While coaching can often work in tandem with counseling and/or therapy, it is neither of those.

Counseling is based on helping people come to terms with the issues they are facing.

Therapy is based on analyzing the past and how it’s affecting the current state.

Coaching isĀ helping to identify the skills and capabilities that are within the person, and enabling them to use them to the best of their ability.

Q: How do I choose from all the coaches that are out there?

A: There are several criteria you may want to consider:

  1. Certification: There are far too many benefits to list considering a certified coach but know that they are held to the highest standards of ethics and codes of conduct, they are trained and tested to the highest standards and the most well established and reviewed body of knowledge the profession has to offer.
  2. Type or style of coaching: Not to be confused with the niche of coaching (i.e.: career, life, relationship, etc…) but rather the overarching philosophy and approach the coach practices. At B2Coaching, the underlying principles are those of Core Energy Coaching developed by Dr. Bruce Shnieder, the founder of iPEC.
  3. Coaching niche: Many coaches will choose a specialty or a niche. There are various motives for choosing a niche as a coach and asking your prospective coach why they chose their niche is absolutely appropriate (and the answer should resonate and feel great with you).
  4. You like the coach; You should like the coach. While the coach is a professional and not being hired to be your friend, you should feel comfortable and safe with them, their style and approach should be attractive to you and you should never feel controlled or heavily influenced by them. Their only agenda should be your agenda!
